I've been on a road trip this past month and had to stay at a few hotels. We had a lot of bags including 2 huge suitcases. What a pain to take in and out of the trunk! Ugh!
One thing that was suggested to me was to take a travel bag with clothes and necessities for the hotel, so I don't have to lug suitcases in and out. Boy, oh boy was this a great idea and helped tremendously!
I put in pjs, clothes for the next day, brush/comb, deoderant, toothbrush and toothpaste, and any other necessities.

We do this in our family too. It sure does make carrying luggage a lot easier!
Glad to know you enjoyed your time away. I saw that your children were ill. I hope everyone is well now. Take care my friend!
mapquest is essential for MY travels --I have learned to print RETURN directions as well! LOL!
Games and pass time items for long trips!
Planning the trip around eating times so we can cut down on expense (bringing a 'sack' lunch is also helpful with this)
REFUSE to answer the "are we there yet?" or the "how much longer" questions has been helpful for the driver's sanity! LOL!
My hubby and I are complete opposites when it comes to thermostat settings --so I bring a blanket so he can have A/C and I am still quite comfy! :)
