Making my home a haven and blessing my new niece

As of yesterday, I have a new niece - Ashley Paige. :D She was born weighing in at 9 lb. 1 oz. and 20 inches long with a full head of hair. Here is one of her first shots from my brother Kenneth and my SIL.

One of the wonderful things which I like to make for new babies is a fleece blanket with bows. I don't sew, so this is ideal for me. It only takes me about an hour or so to do, too. I have been putting this one off since they came back at the end of May when she picked out the fabric. She was scheduled for a c-section this Wednesday, but yesterday went into labor so they went ahead and delivered her. Now I really have to do something that I put off for so long. So this morning after reading the Anti Procrastination challenge on Biblical Womanhood, I grabbed the fabric and got to work.

Here is the finished result:

This is not all that I want to finish today. Here are the other things that I am going to be doing today:
1. Baking our sandwich bread.
2. Gathering my coupons
3. Mailing the blanket.
4. Catch some of the good deals at Dillons while mailing blanket.
5. Catch deals, return some things, and blow up pics at Walgreens. I wasn't able to catch some deals or blow up pics, but did return some things.
5. Book hotel for our field trip on Friday.
6. Call on renting tennis racquets. DD wants to try tennis. Don't have any.
7. A decorating project in master bathroom.

I'll be crossing these off as they get done. Hopefully by tonight, they will all be crossed off. :D
Go on over to Biblical Womanhood and check out the Anti-Procrastination challenge. Just get up and do it! :D

Hi Sherry!

Coming over from your kind comment on HTBAH.

Yes, you could do Turkey Bacon in the oven following the same directions. Depending on the thickness, it will probably take about 15 minutes.

I would suggest you spray your foil very lightly with a bit of non-stick cooking spray.

Hi! Thank you for adding me to your blog list! I have enjoyed reading your blog, especially the "If I Had Known" one a few posts down (I think that's what it was called).

I used to be an Air Force wife until a year ago. Now it looks like I will be again. My hubby is re-enlisting...this time in the Army! This might take some getting used to! What branch are you all in?

It's great to meet you! I'll visit again!
